On the following pages is a list of authors including abstract numbers and session type. Please note that STS refers to a Special Topic Session (oral presentation - workshop) and PS refers to a Poster Session. The number following the abbreviation indicates the session number. The list of authors is arranged alphabetically by presenting author. If no presenting author was indicated, you may locate the abstract by the last name of the first author on the abstract.
Special Topic Sessions
Listed below are the Special Topic Sessions including day and time of presentation, abstract numbers in each session and session chair. The time allotted for special topic presentations is 15 minutes (10 minutes for talk and 5 minutes for discussion).
Board Room A located on the Atrium Level of the Hyatt Regency Hotel is the designated “speaker ready room”. It will be open throughout the meeting so that you may prepare or preview your material prior to your oral presentation.
It is suggested that you bring your presentation on either a CD or preferably a USB flash drive. The technician in your session room will be available to pre-load your talk onto one central computer to avoid the disruption of stopping the session after each talk to change to individual laptops. You will need to be in the session room approximately one hour prior to the session, so that the loading of talks can be completed prior to the first talk.
Note: Be sure to label your C/D or USB flash drive with your name, session number and hotel room number!
If you prefer to bring your own laptop, please be sure to bring all appropriate equipment for display purposes (cables, power cords, etc.). This is particularly important for Mac laptops!
Poster Sessions
Posters are divided into three sessions, one session per day (sessions listed below). Refreshments (wine/sodas and cheese) will be available during the poster session to facilitate interactions between presenters and attendees. Authors are requested to put up their posters no later than the morning of the poster session (or the night before as soon as the boards are ready). The posters will be available for “browsing” throughout the day. Presenters are requested to stand by their posters during the designated poster session times to be available to answer questions. Poster sessions will be held in the “Pacific Concourse” Room.
The poster boards are 4 feet high (from top to bottom) and 8 feet wide (from side to side). Posters are to be affixed to the boards by Velcro. (Be sure to bring your own Velcro).
Suggestions for poster preparation:
- Provide a heading containing the title, names of authors and affiliations to identify your presentation easily.
- Post a copy of your abstract.
- Plan layout for effective presentation of all illustrations, figures, tables, schemes, equations, text etc. Keep simple with large letters.
- The use of color can add emphasis effectively.
- Mount your material on the poster boards by means of Velcro.
